  36. Someone mentioned awhile ago about the following error:

  38.           FATAL ERROR AT SCRIPT LINE 343
  39.           Unable to open destination file
  40.  
  41. I tried the suggestion of giving an explicit path for [SysPath], but
  42. to no avail.  After about two days of tinkering around with winsetup.inf,
  43. I gave up and installed the Windows stuff manually.  I think the reason
  44. is because I have DR DOS, as I haven't seen many posts with this
  45. particular problem.
  46.  
  47. Anyway, I recently got the AIL drivers and first tried them on Dune 2.
  48. After running the patch, I tried to run the game.  Ultramid seemed to
  49. take a long time to run, I hope that's normal.  But when I got to the game,
  50. only digitized stuff came out, no music.  I read the docs again and
  51. found that I needed 600k to run.  Since only half of Ultramid loaded high, I
  52. had only 575k left.  I was left with the assumption that no music came out 
  53. because I didn't have enough memory.  Also, I gave the game 1700k of 
  54. extended memory, is that too much?  I would dearly love to use some of
  55. that memory for a disk cache.

  57. Yesterday I d/led 1gate14.zip from klingon.  Since this game needed
  58. only 570k,I assumed that music would come out.  Well, I assumed wrong.  All
  59. I got was a lot of pops and static, but no music.  Can anyone point out the 
  60. reason?  Thanks for your help.

  74.     I just have two quick requests.  Could who ever is in charge of the 
  75. archives please update the 00Index.ALL file.  I have to request all my files
  76. via ftpmail or the digest server, and it is imperitive that I know exactly
  77. what is there before I request it.  Also, could someone please archive (I 
  78. mean zip/arj/lha/(or otherwise compress/combine) volumes 2 and 3 of the 
  79. digest.  Requesting each file individually would be a real pain (unless
  80. someone knows how to request a large number of files via ftpmail/digest 
  81. server)  Thanks a lot!

  96. like to clarify; how well does BAK work with the GUS? I notice it supports 
  97. GM and SB. Will ULTRAMID and SBOS provide good results?

  128. I just installed p669v105. It looked very good, I liked what it did and it
  129. sounded just like the old 669 player (the quickie hack). BUT...
  130.  
  131. When i try to quit the program it locks up and the last tone being played never
  132. stops. What is wrong? Is it me, or is it a general fault?

  204. Well, I finally got the infamous tremstr patch error from playmidi
  205. (cause I got a hold of awesome.zip). I looked back through the digests
  206. for the fix, which was to change the ultrasnd.ini entry from
  207. 44=tremstr.pat to 44=marcato.pat. 
  208.  
  209. I had a look in my ultrasnd.ini: No sign of tremstr.pat on Any
  210. patch number. Hmm. Maybe I have an old ultrasnd.ini lying around
  211. somewhere.... (where is unix find when I need it!!)  Nope: can't find
  212. any spare ultrasnd.ini files... Hmm, I though midi files specified patches
  213. by number, but I'll look into the midifile (g.mid FYI). I use mf2t to turn
  214. g.mid into g.txt. Nope, no name tremstr in there, just a patch call to
  215. patch 44..
  216.  
  217. OK, I create a new midi file of one note using winjammer with a patch
  218. change event of 44, yep, It works fine in winjammer, playmidi blows up on it.
  219.  
  220. Finally, I go into c:\ultrasnd\midi .. No tremstr.pat here. OK, try
  221.  
  222. cp marcato.pat tremstr.pat (where are unix soft links when I need em??)
  223.  
  224. That fixes it!!!
  225.  
  226. So the remaining question: why does playmidi insist on the name
  227. tremstr.pat when patch 44 is requested? Is the name tremstr built
  228. into playmidi.exe?? or is there another file somewhere hiding with
  229. tremstr in it!!

  268. 'The NMI procedure on this P.C. is disabled.'
  269. How can I fix this problem ?
  270. Ofcourse I enabled Parity check for memories at CMOS setup.
